Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is part of AltusHost B.V.’s overall Terms of Service (TOS). It applies to all hosting, cloud, and ancillary services provided by AltusHost B.V. to you (“Customer”, “You”), whether you are a direct user, reseller, or end-customer.

1. Purpose

• Protect AltusHost’s infrastructure, systems, and users.
• Define lawful and unacceptable uses of our services.
• Preserve service quality and trust in our platform.

2. Acceptable Use

• You may use the services to host websites, applications, email, and databases within the limits of your subscribed service plan.
• All usage must serve lawful personal or business purposes and comply with applicable local laws, as well as Dutch and EU regulations.

3. Prohibited Activities

a) Illegal and infringing content

• Distribution or hosting of child pornography, terrorist content, hate speech, or content violating human rights.
• Copyright infringement and hosting content without proper authorization.
• Violations of GDPR, privacy, or data protection laws.

b) Malicious or abusive behavior

• Launching or facilitating phishing, DDoS, malware distribution, botnet infrastructure, password cracking, port scanning, or hacking attempts.

c) Email abuse

• Spamming, bulk unsolicited emails, or misuse of SMTP services beyond normal usage. AltusHost reserves the right to throttle or block such activity.

d) Adult content

• Hosting adult content requires prior approval and proof of legality in applicable jurisdictions.

e) High-risk industries

• Hosting services for regulated sectors (e.g., financial services, pharmaceuticals) may require additional verification or compliance documentation.

4. Monitoring & Privacy

AltusHost reserves the right to monitor network traffic and system usage to detect abuse, prevent harm, or comply with legal obligations. We will notify you when feasible unless prohibited by law or necessary to protect systems.

5. Enforcement & Consequences

• We may issue warnings.
• Suspend or terminate service without refund.
• Delete violating content.
• Engage legal authorities if needed.
Such actions are taken at our discretion and are enforceable under this AUP.

6. Review & Updates

Our AUP is reviewed at least annually or as needed due to regulatory changes or new threats. You will be notified of updates via email and site announcements.

7. User Acknowledgment & Flow‑Down

By using AltusHost’s services, you acknowledge and agree to this AUP. Resellers must ensure their clients also comply with it (“flow-down” clause).
